Little flock is not a little flock anymore, but we cannot bring ourselves to change the name. OUr name was taken from luke 12:32. "Fear not little flock for your father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom." this verse communicates so beautifully the heart of little flock baptist church. - "together we face the sin and struggles of our people and this world with confidence that flows from grace and joy that springs from hope."
"Fear not little flock..." Our confidence flows from god's grace! we are not confident in ourselves but confident in our savior the lord jesus christ. we face this world together with security, not secure in what we can do for god, but secure in what god has done for us. "While we were yet sinners Jesus Christ died for us!"
"...your father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom." if god has chosen gladly to give us the kingdom, we believe it should be received with joy. "the joy of the lord is our strength."as followers of christ our joy flows from the hope we have in him!
How can I have this confidence and joy in my life?
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28: 19-20
